MapThePaths APP
By logging into OSM and using the live-edit mode (which works with the live OSM API), the app also allows you to change the designation of existing OSM ways by long-pressing them. This should *only* be done via on-the-ground observations, as the licensing of some council data does not permit direct copying of the designation from the council data to OSM.
Version 0.2 also allows you to create tagged GPS traces. You can record a trace with the red 'record' button and select the path designation (public footpath, public brldieway etc) and general path type (grass path, dirt track etc) for each path you survey. A GPS trace tagged with these properties will be created, which can be ed to OSM. Also, waypoints are created when the tags change, which can help using the GPS trace to create data in JOSM.
IMPORTANT! Performance might be slow on older or low-spec devices due to the way in which the council and OSM data is drawn. For the same reason it is NOT recommended to use the app in cities; it is optimised for rural areas with a low density of data.
